The Algarve International Fair takes place at the Fatacil Showground in Lagoa in Central Algarve over the first weekend of June.
This event, which has been taking place for a number of years, is organised by the Portugal News Group. According to Director Paul Luckman, in 2010 there were even more visitors than the 11,000 people that attended in 2009.
Hey Portugal had a stand at the 2010 show and we had a great time and made plenty of new friends. It was great to put some faces to those people that we had been talking to on the phone or by e-mail.
The reception was fantastic and many were curious to know why you can't say Hello any more. There were a surprising amount of peoplewho did not even realise where Central Portugal is, they seem to think it is the Alentejo! many said they would like to visit and asked about what type of accomodation was available.
The show had over 150 stands as well as a Motor Show and it was also host to the Algarve Dog Show and had many International Food stalls that included Curries, Hog Roast and the Great British Breakfast (served all day).
For kids, there was a Character Parade, Balloons, bouncy castles, cheap beer (only joking it was in The Algarve), face painting, street acts including stilt walkers and juggling and much more.
For our readers, we found some more companies who can supply services and products for the those living in Central Portugal and we also found shops and companies who want to distribute our Hey Portugal Magazine in the Algarve.
Many thanks to everyone for the Good Luck messages and thanks for coming to see us.
