Much of the news at the moment is, of course, about the US Presidential Elections and Britain's EU Referendum. In the US elections Donald Trump is a figure that is ridiculed by most of Europe, due to his extreme policies and negative statements about many European countries. The numbers of Republican and Democrat voters is still close and so it could go either way. CNN has the current poll results.

Anyone purchasing Euros yesterday saw an opportunity after Markit PMI Services data came out better than expected, but the rate then soon fell again once Retail Sales figures, released soon after, were worse than the previous month. This Tuesday, GDP figures for the previous quarter and year are both released and no change in this data is expected. However if these figures come out worse than anticipated, this could provide hints as to whether the European Central Bank will provide further Stimulus measures in the form of Quantitative Easing, which could weaken the Euro and give Euro buyers an opportunity to capitalise on. Please contact
at Foreign Currency Direct for more information and to secure your rate.
Moderately strong North Westerly Winds will keep the temperatures down this weekend and possibly bring in some more rain. From Tuesday onwards, the clouds should clear and we should have some nice sunny days and towards next weekend, temperatures could be up into the 20s. However, lack of cloud will mean that night-time temperatures will be low possibly below zero in some Northern and inland areas. Met Office weather alerts and reports are posted on our facebook page.
