Here is a review of the 2010 Chocolate Festival: (update 2016)

Have you ever been in a castle that smells of chocolate?

Each year 200,000 people visit the Fair to look and taste the magnificent culinary creations.

There are many things to see and do in this month long choc-fest.

The Portuguese Chocolatier of the Year Competition takes place here where the dishes are prepared in front of the Public and placed on display for the whole of the Festival

There is the storefront display where a number of leading Pastry Companies decorate a small shop front with their best recipes and designs.

The Goldsmith’s Chocolate contest is all about producing jewelry made from 80% minimum chocolate and the rest from other edible material. Contestants have to submit a set of necklace, bracelet and ring for judging – not sure if it is the best looking or the best tasting jewelry that wins.
