Fresh Broad Bean Pate is quick and Healthy.

This is very simple recipe made with home grown beans, shop bought or frozen. Broad beans are about the easiest thing to grow, and this is a great idea if you are not too keen on them on their own.

Ingredients

225g broad beans broadbeanpate 2 tablespoons olive oil ( If out of season use frozen broad beans)
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, crushed
2 tablespoons tomato paste
pinch stock powder
paprika 

 

Method

  1. Cook beans in boiling water until tender.
  2. Saute onions and garlic in the olive oil.
  3. Add tomato paste and stock powder and stir for a few minutes over low heat.
  4. Mix in the beans and puree the mixture.
  5. Cool & sprinkle with paprika.

 

Additional Notes

Serve with fresh bread or as a dip with vegetable crudites and crisps.

This is great BBQ extra.
